For this project, we had to realise a roof structure in Haarlem. The project involved a typical two-storey terraced house in Haarlem. The house was in good technical condition, but lacked adequate insulation. The renovation took place in two phases. In the first phase, we created extra space by means of a roof structure, in which two bedrooms and a bathroom were realised. We converted the first floor into a work and guest room. A special feature of this space is that we left both the original construction and the new superstructure visible, contributing to an atmospheric interior.
Five years later, we took care of the ground floor. The floor was replaced with a cellular concrete floor with underfloor heating, and we equipped the house with a heat pump and solar panels.
