Juan Alonso (1971, Argentina) is an architect with over 20 years of experience in a wide range of projects. Since 2003, he has worked in the Netherlands with various architectural firms and construction companies, where he has designed and managed both local and international projects.
At SuJu Architectuur, he fulfills his passion as the “in-house architect,” actively engaging in the community and supporting everyday spatial planning issues. He believes that architects have a societal role to play in helping ordinary citizens address their housing concerns.
Additionally, he frequently volunteers with various organizations, including the ABC Architecture Center Haarlem, the Historical Society of Haarlem, PLAAN Platform Architects, Stichting Woon!, and the Haarlem Children’s University.
Alongside SuJu, he has developed academic initiatives with Susana Aparicio Lardiés (1973, Spain) at universities in Spain and Latin America, specializing in social housing and urban development. Susana is a civil engineer (Amsterdam) and a project coordinator in area development.
